Template bank for spinning compact binary mergers in the second observation run of Advanced LIGO and the first observation run of Advanced Virgo

We describe the methods used to construct aligned-spin template bank of gravitational waveforms by GstLAL-based inspiral pipeline analyze data from second observing run Advanced LIGO and first advanced Virgo. The expands upon parameter space covered during run, including coverage for merging compact binary systems with total mass between 2 $\mathrm{M}_{\odot}$ 400 ratios 1 97.988. Thus targeted include neutron star-neutron star systems, star-black hole binaries, black hole-black binaries expanding into intermediate-mass range. Component masses less than have allowed (anti-)aligned spins $\pm0.05$ while component greater $\pm0.999$. placement technique combines a stochastic method new grid-bank better isolate noisy templates, resulting in 677,000 templates.
